Who We Are

We are Keishia and Arthur Gu. We are adventurers, documenters, and explorers.

Is it cliché to say, we love to travel? sunset in nicaragua 450x250Okay, by travel we don’t mean that we show up on a resort, or cruise, or have travel agent and book plans. We truly believe in DISCOVERY. We want to SEE things, EXPERIENCE things, and MEET people. We take a map, a globe, Google, whatever it takes, and we pick a place and we go! To narrow it down, here are some things we like…. surfing, diving, snorkeling, hiking, nature, critters, and seriously, EATING! If we can accomplish any of the following, you can probably get us to any particular location in the world. And we want to show everyone where we go and how we got there. Many of the places we go are perhaps more obscure and less well known and we want others to see what we see!

We are the Gu’s and this is our Guniverse.

filming in panama city 450x250We like to think of ourselves as low-key documentarians. When we travel and document we want to be agile and to be able to experience the moment. We don’t want to draw excessive attention or be weighed down by bulky cameras or film equipment. That’s why we’re all about phones, GoPros, and drones (Hey, that rhymes). Take a gander at our videos and that’s all you’ll see; we head into a new place whip out our phones and somehow, we create magic.

Most importantly, we have FUN and we’re in love with each other and with life.

panama hats 450x250It all started with a surf adventure to Panama. We were engaged, and thought, “You know, we should take a trip together before we get hitched. What if we don’t get along” Lo and behold, we eloped (Yes, ELOPED) 2 weeks before our planned trip, and Panama ended up being our Honeymoon.

From there, we knew that this was the life we were meant to live. We worked so well together that travel just became an addictive part of our relationship profile. We love it when people say “you guys are everywhere”!!!!

Outside of being an awesome couple, we are accomplished individuals.

Arthur is in the film and television production business and has worked for several well-known international ad Emmy-Award winning travel shows. He is also the Executive Producer of Brindle Productions, a production and marketing company. Keishia was recently named as one of the host of PBS' Epic Adventures, a travel television show trekking the globe in search one epic adventure after the other. By day, she is the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization, increasing educational opportunities and access to quality schools for talented young people in under-resourced communities. And also she serves on the board of several animal rescue and adoption agencies. Additionally, Keishia is a certified Les Mills Immersive Fitness Trainer, Les Mills Body Pump instructor, Certified Schwinn Cycle instructor, and licensed Zumba instructor.

Life for us is full and fabulous.

We do so much in our “down time,” it’s a wonder that we can make it off out couch, let alone off our continent. But we make time for the things that are important.

How lucky we are to have found wandering spirits within each other?

We invite you to come along and share in our journey. We promise to be anything but ordinary. This is the Guniverse and our motto is: Gu’s Go Global.
